About the Role

Sensi.AI is looking for a hands-on Senior Controller to own the accounting, billing and finance operations for our U.S. entity.

This person will report to the Director of Finance and will be responsible for the U.S. entity books, monthly close, U.S. payroll through our PEO, commissions, Mesh / spend management workflows, U.S. sales tax compliance, and billing-related accounting support.

This is a high-impact role for someone who wants to own execution while helping build scalable finance processes in a fast-growing SaaS company.

We are an AI-forward company, and we are looking for someone who is excited to use AI and automation tools to reduce manual work, improve accuracy, and strengthen finance processes

What You’ll Do

  • Own the U.S. entity books and monthly close process.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, payroll entries, commissions, and close schedules.
  • Own the U.S. payroll process through our PEO, including updates, payroll review, submission, and related accounting.
  • Own commission calculations and payment coordination.
  • Manage Mesh / spend management accounting, including coding, receipts, approvals, and NetSuite sync.
  • Manage the existing AR billing function and own revenue and AR processes.
  • Own U.S. sales tax and state reporting processes, including multi-state filings and coordination with advisors.
  • Identify manual finance processes and use AI / automation tools to improve workflows, controls, and reporting.
  • Support audits, tax filings, compliance, and investor diligence requests.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of accounting, controllership, or similar finance experience in a fast growing SAAS startup company.
  • CPA qualified.
  • Experience owning books for a U.S. entity.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Hands-on NetSuite experience.
  • Experience with monthly close, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
  • Experience owning or managing U.S. payroll processes, ideally through a PEO.
  • Experience with commissions or sales compensation processes.
  • Familiarity with U.S. sales tax / multi-state reporting.
  • Experience with spend management tools such as Mesh, Ramp, Brex, Airbase, or similar.
  • Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills.
  • Strong ownership mindset, attention to detail, and ability to operate independently.
  • Experience using AI tools or automation to improve finance/accounting workflows.
  • Experience supporting audits and tax filings. 
  • Management experience.
  • Experience working with C - Level executives.

Nice to Have.

  • Experience with Chargebee, HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar systems.
  • Experience supporting investor diligence.
  • Experience building a fast growing finance team.
