Job Description:
We are looking for dedicated Software and DevOps engineers to join our team in Cambridge. This role has significant impact in improving the engineering experience at Arm!
The Engineering Platform Services teams deliver the platforms, tools, and systems required to develop our software and hardware IP. In this group, the Cloudbees CI team supports Cloudbees CI (Jenkins Enterprise) used company-wide by engineers. They also provide libraries, guidelines, and standard methodologies for optimizing use of the service.
As a Senior Engineer at Arm, you will own technical deliveries, with responsibility from requirements through to planning, implementation, and delivery and will participate in production support and our paid on-call rota for high impact incident response.
At the heart of our approach is a genuine passion for improving the lives of other Engineers at Arm. We maintain a complete focus on delivering solutions aligned to business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Working hands-on with a variety of technologies, to provide an outstanding engineering experience for Arm's hardware and software engineers. The domains and areas include:
  • Software builds and test solutions using CI/CD, binary, secret, and test management.
  • Developing services using SaaS, cloud-based environments, and large-scale clustered compute.
  • Exploiting virtualisation and cloud technologies using Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
  • Engineering experience - improving the daily life and efficiency of engineers across Arm.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • 4 to 8 years working experience in the DevOps field.
  • Demonstrable background in Software Development and Build.
  • A good understanding of the software development lifecycle!
  • Strong experience with at least one programming language (Python, Groovy, Java, Golang, C, C++).
  • Experience with Cloudbees CI or Jenkins Pipelines.
  • Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD).
  • Experience of Linux-based infrastructure build, provisioning, and maintenance.
  • Good knowledge of Cloud services. Experience of at least one of the following: AWS (preferred), Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
  • Demonstrable experience in Infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience working in a Platform Engineering environment. This includes a focus on developer experience and efficiency. It also involves enabling self-service access to infrastructure and systems through automation.
  • Experience of Microservice Software development.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools or techniques to improve engineering efficiency, productivity, and developer workflows.

Salary Range:
$161,500-$218,500 per year
