About the Role

We’re looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer (Remote, U.S.) to help power the next generation of Harness products. You’ll work across our TypeScript stack—building everything from beautifully responsive UIs in React to scalable, secure backend systems using NestJS, Postgres, AWS, and Terraform.

You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver polished, high-performing features that connect consumers, nonprofits, and financial institutions through our platform.

This is a great opportunity for someone who’s excited about delivering across the stack, owning systems end-to-end, and building products that are elegant, resilient, and impactful.

What you’ll do
  • Design and build full-stack features from UI to API to database using React, NextJS, NestJS, and Postgres
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product and design, to solve real customer problems and ship elegant solutions
  • Maintain and scale infrastructure using Terraform and AWS to ensure uptime, security, and performance
  • Build reliable and performant APIs using REST and gRPC to support seamless interactions across our ecosystem
  • Write high-quality, tested code and participate in code reviews and team ceremonies
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and help improve developer velocity, system resilience, and scalability
Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience building and maintaining web applications at scale
  • Proficiency with React, NextJS, and TypeScript for frontend development
  • Experience working with Node.js frameworks (preferably NestJS) and Postgres
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Passion for building intuitive, secure, and user-focused products

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Terraform and AWS for infrastructure-as-code and cloud management
  • Experience with gRPC APIs
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth environment
  • Exposure to CI/CD workflows, monitoring tools, and on-call rotations
  • Familiarity with security and compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR, ISO 27001)
  • Experience mentoring junior developers or leading feature-level projects
Compensation

$145,000-170,000
This position requires candidates that are located and legally authorized to work in the United States. Starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experiences, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The current salary range for this position is $145,000–$170,000 USD per year plus an equity compensation package.

Equal Employment Opportunity

Harness is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic under applicable law.
