We are looking for a Sr. Manager, Commercial Finance to join our team.  This position could be based out of our sites in Chattanooga, TN, Austin, TX, Fremont, CA, Scottsdale, AZ or Warwick, RI.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Commercial Finance Sr Manager will deliver accurate commercial information to the business through analysis of business cases, markets, and pricing information to optimize profitability. She/he will utilize financial analysis techniques to provide analysis and trends on critical business issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Pricing strategy support, analysis, development, and decision making
  • Lead Financial interactions with PRR (Production Revenue Readiness) and PSR (Project Scoping Document) management / Opportunity investment analysis, engaging with Site Finance and leaders
  • Define and lead the development and management of Commercial and Product Development Funnel analysis and reporting.
  • Measuring, maintaining, and automating price measurement processes and price-volume-mix (PVM) reporting
  • Leading CMT monthly rolling-12 and annual revenue forecasting & reporting
  • Serve as the primary Finance business partner to GPD senior leadership, providing strategic financial insight, challenge, and decision support across the product development lifecycle.
  • Develop and report on PD funnel reporting, profitability, analysis, and life-cycle performance to plans
  • Participate in the establishment, maintenance, and control of Master Data Management as the Finance liaison
  • Establish and maintain project level variance analysis of Epicor PM inception to date spent vs business case monthly reporting
  • Define and report on PD resource efficiency measurements, performance reporting, and analysis
  • Collecting and analyzing financial information to support commercial decision-making
  • Identify and monitor causes of cost and revenue variances between actual expenditure vs. forecast/budget, highlighting issues and margin impact
  • Works with sales, marketing, and operations to analyze and build forecasts, improve data capture and processes, and generate useful insight to share with the business
  • Support the business in the development of short, medium and long-term resourcing requirements inclusive of leading the annual Long-Range Planning / Market analysis simulation
  • Coordinate collection and maintenance of intelligence on competitive and market prices, competitive capabilities, win/loss rates, and key drivers of win/loss
  • Provides analytical support for optimizing prices, including price lists, price tiers, rebate structures, bundled offers, SSAs, add-on fees, annual price increases, and contract escalators
  • Participate on bid & quote teams for pitches and new business driving appropriate commercial terms, pricing, and profitability for core vs. opportunistic vs. supply-constrained business
  • Supplies ad-hoc financial information and analysis
  • Improve profit by partnering with sales and operations to manage revenue and resources/costs
  • Work closely with FP&A on various financial analysis including monthly close variances, pricing scenarios, and pipeline
  • Maintain cost books, define and lead analysis of contribution waterfall, and determine annual overhead cost allocations
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Finance Operations Manager and Commercial Financial Analyst, setting clear objectives, prioritizing work, and driving professional growth.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance - MBA, CPA a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance/accounting
  • Commercially minded to identify issues and create solutions
  • Analytical and data driven - Interrogates and validates financial information
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems such as Epicor, JD Edwards, or SAP
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate with cross-functional business partners.
