This role leads a team of Demand Planners and serves as the primary owner of the US demand planning process, forecast governance, planning tools, and cross-functional demand alignment.

The Senior Manager translates commercial strategies, market dynamics, product launches, promotions, and customer signals into a scalable, data-driven demand plan that enables operational and financial decision-making. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capability with people leadership, operational rigor, and the ability to influence senior leaders across Product, Merchandising, Finance, Supply Planning, Business Planning, Sales, Commercial Operations, and Global Planning.

What You'll Bring

Lead the US Demand Planning Function

  • Provide leadership for the US Demand Planning team, including hiring, coaching, developing, and retaining planning talent.
  • Establish clear priorities, operating rhythms, accountability, and escalation paths across the planning organization.
  • Build organizational capability through training, process documentation, succession planning, and best-practice sharing.
  • Protect team capacity by prioritizing high-value planning work and appropriately managing ad hoc requests.

Own the Consensus Demand Plan

  • Lead development of the US consensus demand forecast across channels, categories, and planning horizons.
  • Ensure forecasts reflect aligned commercial, product, customer, market, and financial inputs while maintaining forecast integrity.
  • Lead demand reviews and alignment discussions, translating risks, opportunities, assumptions, and forecast changes into clear recommendations.
  • Champion an unconstrained demand view that represents market demand and provides a clean input to supply, inventory, and financial planning.

Drive Integrated Business Planning

  • Lead the monthly demand review and planning cadence, including calendar governance, deliverable quality, and decision readiness.
  • Partner with Finance, Supply Planning, Product, Business Planning, and Commercial teams to support S&OP and executive planning processes.
  • Deliver executive-ready demand narratives, scenario analyses, risk and opportunity assessments, and recommended trade-offs.
  • Ensure demand decisions support financial commitments, inventory objectives, service levels, and profitable growth.

Planning Governance and Operating Model Leadership

  • Establish clear ownership, decision rights, and planning governance across Regional Demand Planning, Global Planning, Product, Supply Planning, Finance, and Business Planning.
  • Implement RACIs and operating routines that reduce ambiguity, clarify handoffs, and strengthen accountability.
  • Standardize planning processes, templates, reporting, assumptions, milestones, and quality controls.
  • Reduce late-cycle rework and process exceptions through stronger deadline governance and upstream input accountability.

Planning Systems, Data, and Analytics

  • Serve as a senior business leader for demand planning systems, tools, data quality, and reporting capabilities.
  • Partner with Technology and Global Planning on SAP IBP enhancements, process improvements, automation, and the planning capability roadmap.
  • Drive forecast accuracy improvement through segmentation, root-cause analysis, statistical forecasting, scenario modeling, and exception-based planning.
  • Advance the use of AI, Copilot, automation, dashboards, and scalable analytics to reduce manual effort and improve decision quality.

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Act as a planning partner for assortment, lifecycle, portfolio, promotional, channel, and new product decisions.
  • Integrate customer, retailer, market, and commercial insights into demand assumptions and scenarios.
  • Support go-to-market readiness, launch planning, demand shaping, channel expansion, and other strategic growth initiatives.
  • Represent US Demand Planning in cross-functional and leadership forums, constructively challenging assumptions and surfacing business implications.

Leadership Expectations

  • Create clarity and accountability in a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Balance strategic leadership with disciplined day-to-day execution.
  • Lead through influence and build trusted partnerships across US and Global teams.
  • Develop scalable solutions rather than relying on reactive workarounds.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, curiosity, innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Operations, Analytics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in demand planning, supply chain planning, business planning, finance, analytics, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of people leadership experience, including coaching and developing planning talent.
  • Demonstrated experience leading S&OP, IBP, or executive planning processes in a complex, multi-channel environment.
  • Strong forecasting, analytical, financial, and scenario-modeling capabilities.
  • Experience with enterprise planning platforms such as SAP IBP or an equivalent solution.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and experience with visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Proven ability to influence senior cross-functional stakeholders and translate complex analysis into clear decisions.

Preferred Experience

  • Consumer products, retail, apparel, outdoor, sporting goods, or omnichannel experience preferred
  • Experience managing seasonal volatility, product proliferation, and new product introductions.
  • Experience leading planning transformation, operating model design, systems implementation, or process modernization.
  • Experience applying AI, automation, and advanced analytics within planning workflows.

Measures of Success

  • Forecast accuracy and bias performance against established targets.
  • Quality, timeliness, and adoption of the consensus demand plan and monthly planning cadence.
  • Improved data quality, process compliance, reporting consistency, and reduction in manual rework.
  • Inventory and service outcomes, including inventory health, weeks of supply, and excess and obsolete inventory exposure.
  • Team engagement, retention, capability development, and succession readiness.
  • Progress in IBP maturity, planning system adoption, automation, and cross-functional role clarity.
