The role translates  customer objectives into a clear delivery strategy, aligns  execution to expected outcomes, and drives alignment across scope, schedule, risk, dependencies, stakeholder actions, governance, and success measures.

They must bring strong services delivery leadership, executive communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively in technically complex environments with sound judgement.

The role partners closely with Consulting Engineers, Customer Success, Sales, and customer stakeholders to maintain momentum, align resources, and deliver measurable value. It also operates at both the engagement and broader account level, including leading regular quarterly business reviews and helping teams reassess priorities when needed.

This role will be based remotely in the United States.

What you will do:

  • Own delivery accountability for customer requirements, execution, and business outcomes, keeping work aligned to customer priorities
  • Drive alignment, planning, and execution using industry-standard delivery practices across scope, schedule, milestones, risks, dependencies, governance, and success measures
  • Serve as the primary interface to the customer executive sponsor and own financial accountability for overall engagement health
  • Shape and structure delivery and scope by clarifying objectives, guiding priorities and tradeoffs, and translating business goals into an executable delivery approach
  • Partner closely with customer stakeholders and MongoDB account, services, and technical teams to build alignment, remove blockers, and sustain momentum
  • Balance customer outcomes with business objectives, using sound judgment to manage risk, commercial awareness, resource efficiency, and overall engagement health
  • Lead governance cadences, including executive reviews and quarterly business reviews, to reassess priorities and keep resources focused on the highest-value work

  • Strong executive communication and leadership skills, with credibility across senior customer stakeholders and internal cross-functional teams
  • Strong command of delivery fundamentals, including scope management, milestone planning, dependency management, risk management, executive reporting, and escalations
  • Comfort operating in technical environments, paired with strong Professional Services business acumen across delivery economics, resource planning, commercial awareness, and engagement health
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability, strong judgment, and comfort navigating ambiguity, tradeoffs, and complex delivery decisions
  • Proven leadership delivering outcomes across cross-functional teams and customer stakeholders, with the ability to influence, align, and drive accountability without direct authority
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience leading database, cloud, modernization, or software delivery initiatives
  • Familiarity with MongoDB products, services, and common customer transformation journeys
  • Familiarity with AI and Agentic application architectures, ecosystem services, and emerging customer use cases
  • Practical experience leading the delivery of AI-integrated projects
Why this role matters

Senior Project Manager role is defined by delivery leadership and deep accountability for customer success. Rather than focusing on process, you act as the architect of the delivery experience—shaping priorities, navigating complex trade-offs, and ensuring that every milestone is directly tied to the realization of the customer's desired business outcomes.

This role links strong delivery leadership to the health of the Professional Services business by balancing customer value, delivery quality, resource efficiency, and engagement discipline. Strong Senior Project Managers improve delivery predictability, customer confidence, account health, expansion and renewal potential,  and MongoDB’s reputation as a trusted partner in complex transformations. As AI becomes a larger customer priority, the role also helps identify where AI consultation can improve outcomes or delivery efficiency and ensures the right experts are engaged.
