About the Role
Maleda Tech is hiring two experienced full stack engineers, passionate about social impact, to help build the vision of a nimble global emergency response program. This role supports an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit — affiliated with a major consumer platform — that has helped provide safe housing for more than 260,000 people to date, responding to hundreds of emergency events worldwide, including hurricanes, wildfires, refugee crises, and a global pandemic.
The team builds tools that enable impactful individual generosity at scale, in support of the belief that everyone should have a safe place to call home. You'll bring strong technical knowledge, hands-on software development, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly across many functions. This is a small team working in an evolving space, so engineers here thrive in a fluid environment where priorities can shift quickly in response to world events or changes in government policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners on all aspects of product development.
- Envision and develop capabilities that help NGO partners book housing on the platform, build a global supply of free or discounted housing, and raise donations.
- Work with the engineering and data teams to break longer-term projects into deliverable milestones.
- Identify and advocate for areas of improvement through data insights and research.
- Quickly build context in unfamiliar codebases across a large product ecosystem to enable mission-specific capabilities.
