Job Description SummaryAs a GridOS Solution Architect in Technical Sales, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to our utility customers, partners, and internal teams. You will lead customer-facing architecture conversations, shape design decisions, and ensure our solutions deliver measurable business outcomes. This role bridges technology, systems engineering, cloud platforms, and electric grid domain expertise to accelerate customer adoption of the GridOS platform.
In this position, you will serve as a key ally in enabling customers’ envisioned use cases for how they will leverage data to optimize day-to-day grid operations and the service they provide to their communities. You’ll be expected to deeply listen to customer business needs, translate their utility-domain requirements into tangible capabilities that GridOS Data Fabric,  GridOS Connect can deliver, and build strong customer confidence in the DevOps and DataOps resilience that the platform provides. A critical part of this role is guiding utilities as they upgrade or extend their legacy systems, helping them evolve from traditional, siloed architectures to modern, interoperable, data-centric platforms powered by GridOS.
You will collaborate across product, engineering, services, cybersecurity, commercial, and pre-sales teams to design scalable, secure, and interoperable solutions built on GE Vernova’s next-generation GridOS architecture.

Job Description

In This Role, You Will

  • Lead and coordinate technical, architectural, and business discussions with customers to define and validate GridOS solution architectures
  • Translate customer objectives into cloud-ready, modular, and secure architectural designs aligned to the GridOS platform strategy
  • Analyze and develop architectural requirements at the domain and platform level, working closely with portfolio and product specialists
  • Whiteboard and communicate high-level solution architectures that reflect the practical realities of enterprise utility software,  including secure network zones, multi-site deployments, data-flow directionality, and data-access protocols ranging from modern APIs to legacy mechanisms such as FTP for file-based exchanges
  • Partner with the centralized pre-sales engagement team to design, maintain, and optimize on-prem and cloud-based demo environments
  • Apply systems engineering principles to ensure end-to-end integration, quality, and lifecycle management of GridOS deployments
  • Guide customers through modernization initiatives, integrations with legacy OT/IT systems, and adoption of cloud-native practices

Technical Expertise

  • Ability to consult customers on aligning business outcomes with technical solution architectures
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures (Kubernetes, containers, microservices, APIs, CI/CD)
  • Working knowledge of Kotlin, Helm, Apache Arrow, SQL, and modern cloud-native tooling
  • Understanding of cybersecurity regulations and standards such as NERC CIP, Zero Trust principles, and ISO frameworks
  • Progress toward or completion of AWS or Azure Solution Architect certifications
  • Proven experience presenting complex technical solutions to both technical audiences and executive stakeholders (CIO/CTO/CISO)
  • Ability to lead early-stage customer engagements, architecture workshops, and technical discovery sessions

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems,  or equivalent professional experience
  • 8+ years in solution architecture, systems engineering, technical consulting, or pre-sales roles for enterprise or cloud platforms

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills across all organizational levels
  • Hands-on experience designing or implementing cloud-native, distributed, or high-availability systems
  • Experience in customer-facing technical roles, such as pre-sales engineering, consulting, or solution architecture
  • Familiarity with utility technologies such as EMS, DMS, ADMS, DERMS, OMS, SCADA, or other OT/IT grid management systems
  • Knowledge of Kafka, Flink, TimescaleDB, or data streaming and time-series architectures
  • Certification in Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), cloud security (CCSP), or infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
  • Background in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) or complex system integration
  • Understanding of lean, agile, DevSecOps, and continuous delivery practices
  • Comfortable with lightweight development and scripting approaches
  • Experience with serverless/cloud-native automation, such as Azure Functions or similar.

What You’ll Gain

  • Opportunity to shape next-generation grid software supporting the energy transition
  • Direct engagement with utility customers to drive measurable business outcomes
  • Collaboration across engineering, product, services, and pre-sales teams
  • Competitive pay and benefits in line with GE Vernova software roles
  • Participation in a mission-driven business accelerating grid modernization
