Job Summary

This role supports the global Sales organization by delivering and maintaining lab environments, customer Proof of Concepts (POCs), demonstrations, and technical validation platforms. This role partners closely with Sales Engineers, Account Teams, and customers to ensure technical environments are available, functional, and capable of demonstrating the value of HPE Networking solutions.


The ideal candidate combines technical aptitude with a customer-first mindset and enjoys solving problems that help accelerate sales opportunities and improve the customer experience. The role supports lab operations, demo environments, automation initiatives, and customer-facing technical engagements while developing expertise across networking, infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud technologies.


Core Responsibilities

 

Sales & Customer Success Enablement

  • Assist Sales Engineers in delivering customer demonstrations and POCs.
  • Help provision, configure, and maintain environments required for customer evaluations.
  • Support customer-facing technical activities and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Contribute to successful technical validation and proof-of-value engagements.
  • Ensure lab resources are available to meet business and customer timelines.

 

Lab & Demo Environment Operations

  • Maintain physical and virtual lab infrastructure supporting sales opportunities.
  • Support deployment of networking, security, cloud, and data center solutions.
  • Validate lab readiness before customer demonstrations and testing activities.
  • Assist with software upgrades, hardware installations, and environment refreshes.

 

Technical Support & Issue Resolution

  • Respond to lab-related incidents impacting customer or sales activities.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and virtualization issues.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Document solutions and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.

 

Automation & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop basic automation scripts and tools to improve efficiency.
  • Reduce manual effort through workflow automation.
  • Help improve lab deployment speed and customer responsiveness.
  • Contribute ideas to enhance operational excellence and customer experience.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Support teams.
  • Participate in customer escalation and solution-validation activities.
  • Support strategic customer opportunities requiring custom lab solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and field teams.

 

Qualifications

Required


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic understanding of networking technologies, virtualization, and operating systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer-service mindset.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and support customer-facing activities.

Preferred

Exposure to networking technologies and protocols.

  • Experience with VMware, Linux, Windows, or cloud platforms.
  • Basic scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell, or Bash).
  • Experience supporting labs, demonstrations, internships, or customer environments.
  • Interest in pre-sales engineering or customer success roles.

 

Success Measures

  • Customer and Sales Engineer satisfaction.
  • POC and demo environment availability.
  • Speed of lab provisioning and issue resolution.
  • Successful support of customer evaluations and technical validations.
  • Adoption of automation and operational improvements.
  • Quality of documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Ability to independently manage routine sales-support requests.

– United States of America: Annual Salary USD 77,500 - 179,000 in Texas & Virginia
This range reflects the minimum to maximum combined base and target-level sales compensation that would be paid if the hire performs at 100% of their sales plan. Of that on-target pay amount, the mix of base salary and target-level sales compensation is 75%/25%."
