At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

TV Product engineers deliver novel product features on Netflix’s flagship TV application to help members discover and connect with stories they'll love. We partner with designers and product managers to define and refine concepts that will shape the future of entertainment on TV-connected devices. Our work delights millions of customers worldwide on hundreds of different devices, from streaming sticks to smart TVs to cable boxes.

We have a distributed team with teammates across the US. The team is committed to ensuring remote work is a collaborative and productive experience for everyone, regardless of where you commit code from.
Every day:

  • Build state-of-the-art UI features on the leading TV app that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible on performance and memory constrained devices.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, algo, and other engineering partners to scope projects and build delightful user experiences. We validate our judgment by A/B testing product variants with real customers, instead of assuming we know what is best.
  • Work on a code base that is TypeScript/JavaScript based, built with React Frameworks & Redux architecture fine-tuned for TV platforms, and tested with proprietary Jest-based automation frameworks.
  • Own the quality of your features by writing testable code and crafting automation to validate functionality, in partnership with test engineers.
  • Your work will have a direct and measurable impact on the business. Really.

What sets you apart:

  • You have at least 6 years of experience working on consumer-facing products/apps.
  • You have acted as a tech/project lead for large cross-functional projects
  • You have built strong partnerships with Product and Design teams
  • You are expert in JavaScript/TypeScript and UI architecture, and can navigate different languages and technology stacks (eg. Node.js, GraphQL, etc).
  • You have a track record of carving a path when one does not exist
  • You are curious about how members use our application and eager to build product features that entertain the world.
  • Colleagues appreciate the unique perspectives and balanced views you bring to collaborations.
  • You value the perspective of others when identifying solutions.
  • You know there is rarely one ‘right’ solution, and you make thoughtful trade-offs.
  • You have a strong sense of independence, bias towards action, and an inclination for collaboration.
