Job Overview
The Sr. Compensation Strategist will serve as a key partner in developing and implementing incentive compensation strategies that align with the company's business objectives. This role involves analyzing trends, designing competitive incentive programs, adopting best practices, and providing strategic guidance to senior leadership. This role will ensure our incentive performance drives sales behaviors and outcomes to exceed our business objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive compensation strategies that support the company's goals and objectives. Coordinate various compensation projects, ensuring that they are completed effectively and efficiently.
  • Develop business models to measure effectiveness and efficiency of the compensation plans based on delivery of targets, budget alignment, participation and return on investment.
  • Understand best practices across communications and technology industries to advance our incentive plans.
  • Establish mechanisms to monitor and measure continuous improvement through regular reviews of plans to assess effectiness, trend analysis and executing feedback loops for insights to optimize sales effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Provide clear and comprehensive documentation of compensation policies and practices while ensuring that all stakeholders, including employees, managers, and executives, are informed and engaged.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and legal regulations related to sales compensation and quota management.

Education: 

  • Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources or related field (Required)
  • Master's/Advanced Degree Business Administration or Finance (Preferred)

Work Experience:

  • 4-7 years 5+ years of experience in compensation strategy and management. (Preferred)
  • 4-7 years 5+ years of experience in compensation consulting or related field (Preferred)
  • 7-10 years Collaborating with senior leadership to align project outcomes with business objectives (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strategic Thinking Proven track record of designing and implementing effective and scalable sales compensation plans and financial models. (Required)
  • Business Analysis Ability to perform detailed business analysis to align sales strategies with company goals. (Required)
  • Communication Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives and cross-functional partners. (Required)
  • Problem Solving Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.(Required)
  • Matrix Management: Effectively navigate and lead within a matrixed organization, where employees report to multiple managers or work across different teams and projects. (Required)
  • Presentations Ability to create and deliver compelling presentations to stakeholders to drive business decisions. (Preferred)
  • Professional Development Focus on continuous professional development and industry knowledge to provide best-in-class incentive compensation. (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) Certification by WorldatWork Society of Certified Professionals, focusing on mastering the art of compensation packages and strategies. (Preferred)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Internationally recognized certification by the Project Management Institute (PMI) that denotes expertise in project management, useful for managing cross-functional teams in compensation strategy execution. (Preferred)

Base Pay Range: $122,400 - $220,800

Corporate Bonus Target: 20%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
