The Sr. Director of Business Operations builds and runs the operating system for a high-performing solutions delivery organization. You will drive transformation initiatives, implement governance and lean portfolio practices, uplift technology and delivery standards, improve execution, manage cost and budget, and foster a transparent, inclusive culture. The outcome: predictable delivery, faster value flow, efficient execution, engaged teams, and clear alignment from strategy to results.

What you’ll do:

Overall IT Budget with emphasis on Sustaining and Cost Transformation/Save To Invest - 35%

  • Own the IT Cost Transformation program, strategically managing the IT budget and influencing cost-reduction decisions through cross-functional collaboration with IT and Finance, including annual budget allocation, budget-to-actual variance management, IT Integrated Operating Planning (IOP), and headcount and requisition oversight.

Governance for IT Leadership Team - 20%

  • Provide governance to the IT leadership team through the IT Operating Committee, managing OpCo Metrics and OKRs across the IT Leaders.
  • Identify and prioritize discussions through leading agenda topics for the weekly Improvement Initiatives and IT executive leaders.
  • Take lead on Chief of Staff, Compliance, and HR training initiatives.

Culture & Communication - 15%

  • Lead a best-in-class employee experience inspiring a culture of health through positive ways of challenging each other, delivering results, and showing we care through connections and innovation in support of the overall DIRECTV Strategic Goals.
  • Cultivate an environment of growth for employees through leading the Rewards and Recognition Program, promoting communications to keep employees informed and providing employee engagement opportunities with transparency including oversight of the IT Intern Program.

Vendor Management - 15%

  • Providing oversight/governance for all strategic vendors providing IT Services.
  • Drive vendor strategy through strategic resource plans (by domain) to transform the cost structure.
  • Partner with organizations across IT to assist in establishing new agreements; a liaison to Strategic Sourcing for status and prioritization, as well as work with finance on accruals and validating budget for approving request.

Global Capability Center Change Management Lead - 15%

  • Ensure employees and stakeholders successfully adopt the new global capabilities center by managing communications, training, stakeholder alignment, and readiness throughout the transition.

What you’ll bring:

Must Haves

  • Bachelor’s in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred. MBA a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive IT leadership with a proven track record in large-scale delivery transformation, including 5+ years in business operations or transformation leadership roles.
  • Proven experience establishing and leading global delivery teams, designing and operating scalable delivery models that drive efficiency, consistency, and high performance across geographies.
  • Hands-on experience in SAFe or similar scaled agile environments with multiple ARTs/value streams.
  • Expertise in portfolio governance, budgeting, and forecasting (capex/opex, vendor mgmt, cost optimization).
  • Strong command of delivery and DevOps/SRE metrics; ability to translate insights into action.
  • Experience driving enterprise-wide change in a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Certifications: Lean Six Sigma, Prosci.
  • Experience with Technology Business Management, FinOps, and cloud cost management.

This role requires but is not limited to 10% travel.

This is a remote position that can be located anywhere in the contiguous United States. #LI-Remote

DIRECTV's compensation structure is designed to be market-competitive and fully supports efforts to attract and retain employees. It is the company's policy to offer pay that is competitive with other employers in the local market. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTV's 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

DIRECTV WAGE ZONES: $147,830 - $268,307

Low (N1): $147,830 - $221,645

Mid (N2): $155,610 - $233,310

High (N3): $171,171 - $256,641

Top (N4): $178,952 - $268,307
