Additionally:
The role is based at our office in Austin, TX and reports to the Accounting Manager plus will work with a collaborative team of professionals. Candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, have excellent organizational skills, strong accounts receivable and journal entry experience and be a great communicator, both written and verbal.

Overview: 

This position will focus on a multitude of accounting related items. Including, responsible for account entries, payments and finances for the company. Handling and recording internal financial transactions.
 

Essential Functions: 

  • Process sales tax filings for states accurately and timely
  • Apply for new sales tax accounts for new stores as needed
  • Renew state licenses yearly
  • Reconcile corporate bank statements monthly
  • Reconcile employee store bank accounts monthly
  • File Census Bureau reports and other governmental reports
  • Record monthly journal entries
  • Assist with tracking of operator security deposits and fixture fees
  • Analyze current procedures and recommend changes to develop and implement best practice accounting procedures
  • Assist the accounting leadership with audits and other accounting functions
  • Reconciling accounts with the general ledger
  • Prepare special financial reports as requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information      and trends 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred or cumulative relevant experience
  • 2-3 years’ experience in an Accountant role
  • Must have experienced in accounts receivable and journal entry
  • Multi-company GL experience preferred
  • Attention to detail and organization skills a must
  • Ability and willingness to keep and maintain confidentiality
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced and high stress environment
  • Advanced computer skills including, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Retail accounting experience is a plus
  • Team player, self-starter, and professional
  • Ability to work overtime during seasonal months 
  • Strong excel and MS products
