Our client is building an AI-native operating system for materials science research and development. Its applied AI platform helps scientific teams accelerate R&D and bring products to market faster. The company has raised $45M in total funding and is expanding its enterprise reach across chemistry, materials science, and life sciences.
The role / why it matters
As a Strategic Account Executive, you will own pipeline generation and full-cycle enterprise sales across a U.S. territory. You will help senior research and development leaders understand how operational software can improve scientific work, while shaping a repeatable commercial motion for a technical product.
What you'll do
• Build your own enterprise pipeline across chemical, materials science, and life sciences accounts.
• Lead complex sales cycles from prospecting and discovery through business case, negotiation, and close.
• Develop trusted relationships with C-level executives and senior research and development buyers.
• Translate technical workflows and customer needs into clear commercial proposals with Solutions Scientists and customer teams.
• Travel 50% or more across the United States to meet customers and decision-makers in person.
What we're looking for
• 8–12 years of sales experience, including at least 2+ years selling enterprise software.
• A track record of generating your own pipeline and winning multi-stakeholder enterprise opportunities.
• Direct experience selling ERP, PLM, MES, or comparable operational or manufacturing software. This is a core requirement.
• Domain experience and an established senior network in chemicals, materials science, life sciences, or related industries.
• Readiness to travel 50% or more across the United States.
Bonus points
• A technical or engineering background that helps you engage with scientific buyers.
• Experience at scientific or industrial software vendors, or on hyperscaler teams serving industrial or life sciences customers.
Compensation and benefits
• Base salary: $140K-$160K USD.
• 50/50 base and variable compensation structure, with a $280K-$320K target OTE.
• Competitive equity.
Location / work model
This is a full-time, fully remote role for candidates based in the United States, with 50% or more travel to customer sites across the country.
