The Job

We're looking for a strong generalist Systems Administrator whose core expertise is Active Directory. You'll own the health, security, and day-to-day administration of our AD environment — domain controllers, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and the directory structure that everything else depends on — while contributing across the broader IT environment as a versatile, hands-on administrator.

Directory services sit at the foundation of how our users, devices, and applications work together, so you'll partner closely with identity, security, and endpoint teams to keep the environment clean, well-governed, and moving toward modern best practices.

This position is fully on-site at our downtown Austin office.

Responsibilities
  • Own day-to-day Active Directory administration: user, group, and computer object management, OU design, delegation, and directory hygiene
  • Design, maintain, and troubleshoot Group Policy across the environment, keeping GPOs consolidated, documented, and effective
  • Administer and maintain domain controllers, including replication health, FSMO roles, backups/recovery, and patching
  • Manage core network services tied to the directory: DNS, DHCP, and site/subnet topology
  • Harden and secure the directory: tiered administration, least-privilege delegation, privileged account management, and remediation of common AD attack paths
  • Support hybrid identity, including directory synchronization to cloud identity platforms and clean attribute/data flows
  • Automate routine directory tasks and reporting with PowerShell
  • Support day-to-day IT operations across the environment: escalated troubleshooting, server and SaaS administration, and infrastructure projects as needed
  • Participate in audits and access reviews with clear evidence from the directory
  • Document architecture, processes, and runbooks so the environment is well understood and supportable

•    Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.

•    Performs other duties as assigned.

  • undefined

Qualifications

Required
  • 5+ years of hands-on systems administration experience in a professional environment
  • Very strong Active Directory expertise: domain services, Group Policy, replication, trusts, sites and services, and directory security
  • Deep experience managing domain controllers, DNS, and DHCP in a production environment
  • Strong PowerShell skills for AD automation, reporting, and bulk operations
  • Solid understanding of AD security best practices: tiered admin models, delegation, privileged access, and common attack paths (e.g., Kerberoasting, pass-the-hash)
  • Experience with hybrid identity concepts and directory synchronization to cloud platforms
  • Broad generalist skills across Windows Server administration, networking fundamentals, and troubleshooting
  • Clear written and verbal communication and strong documentation habits
  • Ability to work on-site full-time in downtown Austin, TX
Preferred
  • Okta administration or integration experience (SSO, MFA, lifecycle management)
  • Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune administration experience
  • Jamf Pro experience for macOS device management
  • Slack workspace administration experience
  • Jira Service Management (JSM) administration experience
  • Exposure to Workday or other HRIS platforms as an upstream identity source
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, Identity and Access Administrator)
