About the role:

As a System Architect aligned to the Awareness to Revenue (A2R) value stream, you will own architecture, standards, and technical direction for Blackbaud's A2R platforms, including data model governance, integration patterns, and release and lifecycle decisions within those platforms. You will also hold the shared technical and architectural vision for the teams within your Agile Release Train (ART), aligning agile teams to a common technical direction and defining the enablers and non-functional requirements that keep delivery on a sound architectural footing. You will work closely with the A2R Solution Architect to keep platform and ART-level technical decisions consistent with the broader value-stream architecture, and with Enterprise Architecture to stay aligned with portfolio-level standards.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Own platform-level architecture, standards, and technical direction for the platforms in your remit within the A2R value stream, including Salesforce, covering data model governance, org structure decisions, integration patterns, and release strategy within each platform.
  • Guide integration and data architecture connecting Salesforce, marketing automation, and customer success platforms with the underlying data and analytics platform, including data contracts and Salesforce write-back patterns.
  • Provide platform-level technical input into architecture decisions affecting core A2R capabilities including sales forecasting, quote-to-cash and pricing, contract lifecycle management, customer success, and marketing automation.
  • Advise on platform-level integration points for AI agents and automation within the platforms you own.
  • Own the shared technical and architectural vision within your Agile Release Train (ART), aligning agile teams to a common technical direction sprint to sprint.
  • Define architectural enablers and non-functional requirements (NFRs), and manage capacity for enablement work within the ART's backlog.
  • Partner with the A2R Solution Architect to ensure platform and ART-level technical decisions remain consistent with the broader value-stream architecture, without duplicating cross-ART or portfolio-level decisions owned by the Solution Architect and Enterprise Architect layers.
  • Participate in PI Planning, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt events at the ART level, and mentor engineering teams on technical approach and architectural best practices.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risk, ensuring platform configurations meet security, privacy, and data governance standards.
  • Promote Lean-Agile principles, DevSecOps, and continuous delivery practices within the ART.

What we'll expect you to have:

  • 10+ years of industry experience designing and implementing technical solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience in a platform, system, or solution architecture role.
  • Hands-on architecture-level experience with at least two of the following platform categories: CRM (e.g., Salesforce), data and analytics, IT service management/workflow automation, or enterprise resource planning platforms.
  • Experience working in a SAFe environment or other scaled Agile framework, including PI Planning and ART-level ceremonies.
  • Working knowledge of data model governance, integration patterns, and release/lifecycle management within a major SaaS platform.
  • Ability to deliver technical solutions that meet requirements for quality, security, and operability at the platform level.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction without formal authority.

What we'll prefer you have:

  • Salesforce platform architecture experience, including data model design, integration patterns, quote-to-cash and pricing workflows, and embedded AI agents.
  • Modern data and analytics platform experience, including data contracts, lakehouse architecture, and propensity/ML data pipelines.
  • Enterprise resource planning platform architecture experience (e.g., contract lifecycle management) and/or IT service management/workflow automation platform architecture experience.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation, customer success, and revenue technology ecosystems, including conversation intelligence platforms and e-signature/contract platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI agent platforms and governance considerations across CRM-embedded and enterprise assistant tools.
  • SAFe® Architect Certification or SAFe® certification (or willingness to obtain).
