About Base

Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.

About the Role

As a Talent Partner at Base, you will build the teams that enable Base to scale, with a focus on functions like Legal, Accounting, Finance, People, and other critical corporate teams. You will run full-cycle recruiting from sourcing through offer close, partner directly with functional leaders to understand highly specialized talent needs, and build focused hiring processes that identify exceptional people.
You’ll have a hand in building one of the fastest growing companies in America. Help us build the future of American power.

What You’ll Do
  • Own full-cycle recruiting: Run end-to-end hiring across G&A functions, from sourcing and initial assessment through offer close.

  • Build specialized talent pipelines: Source and engage exceptional candidates across areas like Legal, Accounting, Finance, People, and other corporate functions.

  • Learn the functional bar: Develop a strong understanding of what separates exceptional talent across specialized roles, whether you're hiring an attorney, technical accountant, finance leader, or people partner.

  • Partner with functional leaders: Work directly with leaders to scope roles, define what great looks like, build effective interview processes, and calibrate throughout the search.

  • Advise the business: Bring market insights, candidate feedback, compensation data, and recruiting judgment to help leaders make better hiring decisions.

  • Champion candidate experience: Keep candidates informed and engaged throughout the process so every candidate, hired or not, leaves with a positive view of Base.

  • Run on data: Track pipeline health, time-to-fill, stage conversion, and other recruiting metrics to identify bottlenecks and improve outcomes.

  • Move at Base pace: Manage multiple searches across different functions and levels while making sound, fast decisions.

What You’ll Bring
  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a strong track record of hiring across G&A or corporate functions.

  • Experience recruiting specialized talent across functions such as Legal, Accounting, Finance, People, or similar areas.

  • Range across levels: You’re comfortable hiring individual contributors through senior leaders and know how to adjust your search and closing strategy accordingly.

  • Proven sourcing ability: You know how to identify, engage, and close candidates who aren't actively looking.

  • Strong business acumen: You can quickly learn a function, understand what actually matters in a role, and assess candidates beyond keywords on a resume.

  • Credibility with senior stakeholders: You can push back, challenge assumptions, and act as a true recruiting partner rather than simply taking an intake.

  • A data-driven approach to recruiting: You track pipeline metrics and use them to make decisions, not just report status.

  • Comfort with ambiguity: You build processes where none exist and adjust quickly as priorities shift.

  • Sound judgment under pace: You move fast without sacrificing candidate experience or the hiring bar.

About the Team

At Base, Talent is one of the highest-leverage functions in the company. We believe the quality of our team determines the quality of everything we build, so hiring isn't a support function — it's a core part of our strategy.
Our team partners directly with leaders across Engineering, Operations, Product, Growth, Finance, Legal, People, and beyond to identify exceptional talent and build the teams that will define the future of Base. We own the hiring process end-to-end, challenge assumptions, raise the bar, and move with urgency.
We're building a Talent organization that combines exceptional judgment with operational excellence. We care deeply about candidate experience, hiring quality, and creating scalable systems that help the company grow without compromising on talent density.

Please note: Base is a startup, which means priorities shift and evolve quickly. Your role may expand or change based on the needs of the business at any given time, so the responsibilities listed may not be exhaustive.

Our Values
  • First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions. Principles > rules.

  • Operate at Base Pace: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.

  • Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble, and maintain a growth mindset.

  • Everyone’s an Owner: Follow through on commitments and own results.

  • Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: Drive clarity and make calls with imperfect information.

  • Committed to the Mission: Rebuilding the grid is a big challenge. We work hard because we care deeply about the impact we’re creating. We work in-person. It’s not a 9-to-5. We are all-in.

  • Fun & Optimism Coexist with Grit: Collaboration and celebration coincide with the intensity of building real things.

Do the best work of your life at Base.
