The Technical Marketing team at Cohesity is on a mission to bring our AI-powered data security and management story to life for practitioners and executives worldwide. Our team of hands-on technologists and strategic storytellers is focused on translating complex security and data platform capabilities into clear, compelling narratives that drive customer impact.  

 

As a Technical Marketing Director, you will shape how Cohesity communicates its security and data protection value across global audiences, reporting to Marketing leadership. You will bridge product innovation and real-world customer needs, influence product direction while driving adoption through technical storytelling, field enablement, and thought leadership.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE: 

 

  • You will develop technical marketing strategies and assets (demos, blogs, webinars, podcasts, events presentations and more) to drive product adoption and market awareness.  

  • You will build and deliver compelling demos and presentations to showcase Cohesity’s security and data platform capabilities to diverse audiences.  

  • You will translate complex technical features into clear messaging tailored to practitioners, IT leaders, and executive stakeholders.  

  • You will collaborate cross-functionally with product management, engineering, sales, and marketing teams to execute go-to-market initiatives.  

  • You will develop and articulate technical thought leadership through speaking engagements, analyst briefings, and industry presence.  

  • You will align security strategies with Cohesity solutions to strengthen market positioning and credibility.  

  • You will influence product direction by bringing customer and field insights into product and marketing discussions.  

  • You will be part of a team that operates and maintains a technical demo environment and deploys new technologies to support the demo work you and the team delivers. 

 

WE’D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING: 

 

  • Must have English language proficiency (can interact with a degree of fluency when speaking, reading, and writing in a professional and specialized setting). 

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. 

  • Comfort with ambiguity and change; proactive problem solver. 

  • Proven experience in technical product marketing and/or product management for enterprise software or infrastructure technologies.  

  • Strong hands-on experience with security technologies, data protection, storage, and virtualization environments.  

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support decision making. 

  • Experience with strategy and execution of ideas. 

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-aligned messaging. 

  • Experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced, matrixed organizations.  

  • Familiarity with cloud ecosystems such as AWS, Microsoft Azure and/or GCP. 

  • Strong storytelling, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.  

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP) are a plus.  

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, MIS, or related field (or equivalent experience).  

  • 15+ years of experience in technical marketing with a strong security focus, or equivalent experience in data center solution design and implementation.  

  • Ability to travel up to 30% (US and global).

Disclosure Pursuant to Applicable State Equal Pay Transparency Laws - This position has a starting pay range as listed below. Actual salary depends upon many factors, including a candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience, location, and salary expectations, and therefore a starting salary at the low end, high end, or even above the stated range may be offered. This position may also be eligible for bonus compensation, commission (if in a sales function), and/or equity grants. Additionally, full-time employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits framework, including health and wellness benefits, vacation, paid holidays and refresh days, 401(k) retirement plan, life and disability insurance coverages, and other benefits the Company may offer from time to time.

Pay Range :

$239,400.00-$266,000.00

The compensation noted above is based on an annualized hourly rate assuming normal full-time employment.

In-Office Expectations
Cohesity employees who are within a reasonable commute (e.g. within a forty-five (45) minute average travel time) work out of our core offices 2-3 days a week of their choosing.


We strongly prefer candidates who are currently located in or near the designated job location. Candidates outside the area should apply only if they are committed to relocating prior to their start date and have the legal right to work in the job location.
