The Telecommunications Network Engineer provides telecommunications network engineering support for the analysis, design, implementation, and management of voice and data communications capabilities. Working independently or under general direction, the engineer supports moderately complex requirements involving voice networks, LAN/WAN data networks, wireless networks, and network management systems. The role develops network designs and installation and maintenance plans, defines system requirements and network specifications, analyzes information transport needs, coordinates implementation with other information systems professionals, and develops alternative solutions and backup plans with functional users.
*This position is contingent upon contract award.*
Responsibilities:
- Analyze, design, and support telecommunications networks for voice, data, video, and wireless services.
- Support design and management of voice networks, LAN/WAN data networks, wireless networks, and network management systems.
- Analyze, plan, program, and implement moderately complex telecommunications requirements.
- Develop designs and plans for installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems from project inception through completion.
- Analyze communications problems and the characteristics of information to be transported.
- Define system requirements and develop network specifications.
- Coordinate with information systems professionals to ensure proper implementation of network services.
- Work with functional users to develop alternative technical solutions and backup plans.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Years of Experience: Three (3) years of relevant experience.
- Clearance Requirements: Secret; High Risk, Critical Sensitive, Tier 5/SSBI investigation at time of proposal.
- Certification Requirements:
- IAT Level II – CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, CCNA Security
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
