Responsibilities & Qualifications

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing guidance on State, county, and municipal projects.
  • Conduct crash analyses and develop data-driven safety recommendations.
  • Support and manage safety-focused programs and initiatives.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and coordination.
  • Develop safety targets, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and summary reports.
  • Contribute to Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) activities and implementation.
  • Review Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) assessments and performance plans.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of traffic engineering design experience.
  • Preferred certifications: PE (Professional Engineer), AICP (Certified Planner), RSP (Road Safety Professional).
  • Strong knowledge of safety and design standards including:
    • NJ SHSP
    • Highway Safety Manual (HSM)
    • HSIP
    • Complete Streets
    • ADA Compliance
    • Safe System Approach
    • AASHTO, MUTCD, NACTO, NJDOT Design Manual


 

Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $80,000 - $115,000 annually for this position and local market. We recognize that each candidate brings a unique set of skills, experience, education and competencies to the table that will be reflected in our offer. #LI-DNP
