About Overwatch Mission Critical
Overwatch is a service-disabled Veteran-owned small business (SDVOB) certified through the National Veterans Business Development Council (NVBDC), delivering construction professional services, talent acquisition, and general contractor solutions within the mission-critical infrastructure industry. Our focus is the construction and management of state-of-the-art data centers, executed with the precision and reliability this industry demands. From high-end engineers to seasoned field professionals, we deploy the talent needed to bring complex infrastructure to life. At Overwatch, it's more than a job — it's purpose.

The Role

Overwatch Mission Critical is looking for a Vice President of Business Operations to help connect our growth strategy to the capabilities required to win and deliver profitable business.

This is a cross-functional operating role with an immediate focus on Revenue Enablement.

As Overwatch continues to grow across our core business, and other operating companies, we need to strengthen how Revenue connects to the rest of the enterprise. That means ensuring our businesses have the visibility, capabilities, capacity, tools, and cross-functional support required to pursue opportunities effectively and deliver on what we sell.

The VP, Business Operations will work across Overwatch’s operating companies and enterprise functions to understand business performance, anticipate growth needs, identify constraints, align priorities, and drive coordinated action across organizational boundaries.

This role reports to the EVP, Enterprise Operations and will serve as a key operating partner across the business.

What You Will Own:

Revenue Enablement

The immediate mandate is strengthening the operating environment around Revenue so our businesses are better equipped to pursue, win, and deliver profitable growth.

You will:
  • Connect commercial strategy and pipeline with the enterprise capabilities required to support growth
  • Identify the constraints preventing Revenue teams from pursuing, advancing, or converting opportunities effectively
  • Ensure Revenue has the right visibility, insights, tools, and cross-functional support to execute
  • Strengthen the connection between pipeline, pricing, marketing, talent and capacity, systems and data, mobilization, and delivery
  • Partner with Revenue leadership to understand where opportunities are stalling and mobilize the right functions to address the underlying issues
  • Improve visibility into pipeline health, conversion, velocity, capacity, and execution readiness
  • Help establish clear ownership and effective handoffs across the revenue lifecycle
  • Ensure enterprise priorities and investments are aligned to the most important commercial opportunities

The role connects Revenue to the broader enterprise and helps ensure the business is positioned to support the commercial promise.

Cross-Functional Business Performance

Many of the most important business problems do not sit cleanly within one function.

This role will help connect those pieces.

You will:
  • Develop an enterprise view of business performance and the drivers behind results
  • Identify cross-functional constraints affecting growth, margin, customer outcomes, or execution
  • Connect the appropriate functional leaders around shared business outcomes
  • Translate commercial demand into implications for capacity, resources, systems, processes, and enterprise priorities
  • Surface risks, dependencies, and decisions that require leadership attention
  • Drive clarity around ownership when an issue crosses organizational boundaries
  • Ensure agreed actions move forward and produce measurable business outcomes
  • Help leadership distinguish isolated functional issues from systemic business problems

Success requires the ability to see across functions while respecting and reinforcing functional ownership.

Enable Growth Across Our Businesses

Overwatch is building multiple businesses with different customers, services, markets, and commercial motions.

The VP, Business Operations will help ensure those businesses can leverage the strength of the broader enterprise rather than building everything independently.

You will:
  • Partner with leaders across our core businesses, and future operating companies to understand their growth priorities and operating needs
  • Identify common capabilities that can be leveraged across businesses
  • Help translate market and pipeline opportunities into enterprise requirements
  • Connect operating companies to the right enterprise capabilities and resources
  • Identify where a common approach creates leverage and where the business requires a differentiated model
  • Help successful practices move across the enterprise
  • Ensure growth in one part of the company does not create unintended constraints elsewhere

Our goal is to create leverage across the enterprise while allowing each business to operate in a way that fits its market and customers.

How You Will Work:

This role sits between strategy and execution and requires strong business judgment.

You should be comfortable moving from a conversation about revenue growth, customer opportunity, or business economics into understanding the operational implications of that opportunity.

You will work closely with leaders across:

  • Revenue and Sales Operations
  • Recruiting and Talent
  • Delivery
  • Marketing
  • Finance
  • Business Enablement & Program Delivery
  • Business Platforms, Data & Intelligence
  • Operating companies

The VP will work through influence, shared accountability, business insight, and strong cross-functional leadership to bring the right capabilities together around enterprise priorities.

What Success Looks Like:

Within the first 12 months, we should see measurable evidence that Revenue and the broader enterprise are operating as a more connected system.

Examples include:

  • Revenue teams have stronger visibility, tools, information, and enterprise support to pursue opportunities
  • Clearer connection between pipeline and the capacity required to fulfill it
  • Improved visibility into where opportunities are moving, stalling, or being lost
  • Faster identification and resolution of cross-functional barriers to growth
  • Stronger alignment between Revenue, Recruiting, Marketing, Finance, Delivery, and enterprise capabilities
  • Clearer ownership and handoffs across the revenue-to-delivery lifecycle
  • More reliable revenue and capacity planning
  • Better visibility into business performance and its underlying drivers
  • Greater leverage of enterprise capabilities across PPS, EMEA, and other operating companies
  • Measurable improvement in revenue performance, margin, productivity, scalability, or customer outcomes resulting from better cross-functional execution

What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a strong business operator who understands how revenue is created and how an enterprise must operate to support it.

The right person will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations, Strategy, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 10+ years of progressive experience across Business Operations, Revenue Enablement, Commercial Operations, Strategy & Operations, or comparable operating roles, including 5+ years in senior leadership or cross-functional leadership positions
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of sales, business development, account growth, pipeline, forecasting, pricing, and the customer lifecycle
  • Demonstrated success working across multiple functions and business leaders to drive measurable outcomes
  • Ability to understand business economics and connect revenue opportunities to operational implications
  • Strong analytical capability and comfort using data to understand performance, identify trends, and diagnose problems
  • Experience translating business needs into clear priorities and coordinated action across functions
  • Strong executive communication and the ability to influence leaders without relying on direct reporting authority
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and bring clarity to complex business problems
  • Ability to think creatively at the enterprise level while remaining close enough to the business to understand what is actually happening
  • Experience with Salesforce or a comparable enterprise CRM strongly preferred, including familiarity with pipeline management, forecasting, reporting, and CRM-driven sales processes
  • Experience supporting multiple business units, operating companies, or geographies is a plus
  • Experience in professional services, staffing, construction, infrastructure, data centers, field services, or another people- and project-intensive business is also a plus

The Profile:

This person naturally connects the dots.

They look across the business and ask:

Where does the next dollar come from?

What is preventing us from winning it?

What will the business need if we win it?

Do we have the capacity and capabilities to deliver it profitably?

Where are opportunities getting stuck across functions?

What does the data tell us about what is really happening?

What needs to change, and who needs to be involved?

How do we create leverage across our businesses rather than solving the same problem multiple times?

This is not a role that simply reports on the business or manages a portfolio of projects.

It is a role that helps connect the business so Overwatch can grow and execute as one enterprise.

Benefits:
Overwatch offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, and relocation assistance available.
