Job Description

We're seeking a dynamic, highly organized, and proactive Office Coordinator / Workplace Lead to serve as the heartbeat and main local point of contact for our Austin office. In this role, you'll manage day-to-day office operations, coordinate catering, maintain local facilities, and act as our on-site culture champion to drive office utilization and deliver a best-in-class workplace experience. Reporting directly to the Director of Workplaces, you'll also partner closely with our Workplace and Engagement Specialist to support event logistics, vendor and property relationships, and local people engagement, Employee Resource Group (ERG) activities, and internal communications.

What You'll Do:

  • Local Point of Contact: Serve as the primary face of the Austin office, welcoming employees and visitors while maintaining a warm and highly functional workspace.
  • Office Maintenance & Inventory: Proactively manage daily office operations, including workspace setup and keeping supplies fully stocked.
  • Catering & Kitchen Management: Oversee office catering and snack/beverage ordering, and keep kitchen and common areas organized to keep the team fueled and happy.
  • Event Logistics: Partner with the Workplace Engagement Specialist and Director of Workplaces to execute seamless logistics for local team meetings, office celebrations, and special events. 
  • Vendor & Property Management: Support on-site relationships with property management, cleaning crews, maintenance technicians, and local vendors to keep facilities in top shape. 
  • Budget Alignment: Ensure office ordering, catering, and event execution align with established team budgets and company policy.
  • Culture Champion: Design initiatives that elevate the daily workplace experience, actively driving office utilization and a vibrant community environment.
  • Engagement Strategy & ERGs: Work with the Director of Workplaces and internal stakeholders to support local people engagement strategies and help coordinate Employee Resource Group (ERG) activities.
  • Internal Communications: Help build and maintain a local events calendar and draft internal communications that drive employee awareness and participation.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in office coordination, workplace operations, hospitality, or facilities management.
  • Event Savvy: Proven experience supporting the coordination and logistics of team meetings and corporate events.
  • Communication Style: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle internal communications in a bright, professional tone.
  • Tech-Comfortable: Proficient with everyday workplace technology, including A/V setups, video conferencing tools, and inventory systems.
  • Mindset: A proactive self-starter with a “make things happen” attitude who is adaptable, flexible, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range:  $25 to $30 per hour The base salary range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the national salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Care.com’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives. In addition, Care.com provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life, and disability insurance, a generous 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
