Garde Manger


Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Garde Manger. In this role, you will support the Chef in the kitchen operation. You will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality cold dishes, including salads, appetizers, charcuteries, sandwiches, cold sauces, and desserts as assigned. This position ensures food is prepared according to recipes, presentation standards, and food safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organized workstation. 


As part of our leadership team, you’ll embody our Promise to Lead with Love—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You'll help create an exceptional guest experience by preparing fresh, high-quality cold dishes with outstanding presentation while supporting a collaborative and efficient kitchen environment for fellow associates.


Key Responsibilities 

  • Ability to lead a team in bulk production of said cold foods and present attractive plates and platters when required.
  • Follow recipes, production schedules, and plating standards.
  • Monitor food temperatures / storing food at safe temperatures.
  • Ensure all food items are properly labeled and stored.
  • Assist with inventory, ordering, and minimizing food waste.
  • Assist Main Kitchen in any additional production as needed.

What We’re Looking For 

  • 1+ years’ experience in a high-volume production kitchen is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and knife skills.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and presentation.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
