Operation Sports is a leading news and content provider focused on the sports video games industry. Founded and operated by experienced industry veterans, OS has long been considered the premier destination for the hardcore sports gamer.

We’re expanding—and we’re urgently hiring new writers to help us build the next phase of Operation Sports.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for passionate writers who don’t just love sports sims—you love sports. You follow the games, you know the stats, and you can talk about Ultimate Team modes as easily as you can break down a new Madden patch.

This is a remote freelance or hourly role, open to both part-time and full-time contributors depending on region.

Games We Need Help Covering
  • NBA 2K
  • Madden / College Football
  • MLB The Show
  • Racing Games (e.g. Forza, Gran Turismo, F1)
  • Ultimate Team Modes (any franchise)

Please note: We are not in need of EA FC/FIFA writers at this time.

Verticals We’re Exploring
  • Sports Sims & Gaming Coverage
  • Ultimate Team game modes
  • Fantasy Sports
  • General Sports Coverage (as it relates to sports sims)
What You’ll Do
  • Cover a variety of sports games and topics under your assigned content role (Guides/News/Features/Opinions/Lists)
  • Update evergreen content to ensure accuracy and discoverability
  • Submit clean, publish-ready copy
  • Meet tight deadlines and react quickly to trending topics
  • Pitch original ideas informed by your deep knowledge of the game and the sports world
We’re Looking for Writers Who:
  • Are experts in both sports and sports gaming
  • Can confidently write one or more of the following: GuidesNewsFeaturesOpinions, Lists
    • (You don’t have to do it all—just let us know where you shine!)
  • Are fluent in English with excellent grammar
  • Have experience with SEO, WordPress, Trello, and Google Trends (bonus)
  • Can provide 1–3 relevant writing samples on a sports game you know well
Pay Expectations
  • U.S. writers: Paid freelance rates
  • International writers: Hired on an hourly contract (part-time or full-time)
  • All roles have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position
