Job description

The Partner Integration Engineer is the technical point person for partners, customers integrating with Libra to submit claims for processing, underwriting, and funding. You own the integration journey end to end, from first technical conversation to a stable production connection, and you are the person both sides trust to know where things stand.

This role moves fluidly between audiences. With a customer's operations or business leaders, you explain what the integration does, what it needs from them, and what happens next in plain language. With their engineers, you go deep on APIs, data mapping, authentication, error handling, and edge cases. In both, you communicate concisely and appropriately as you work in the technical details with engineers and in conceptual business terms with non-technical personnel.

You bring the customer's needs back to Libra as precise, engineering-ready requirements, and you use AI-assisted tools to produce specifications, documentation, and integration guides quickly and accurately. You will rarely have direct authority over the people you need. You succeed through clear thinking, self-organization, follow-through, and the credibility you build with customers and Libra's product and engineering teams.

This position reports to the VP AI Transformation and can be based in any of our office locations in Denver, CO, Huntersville, NC, Rosemont, IL, or Las Vegas, NV. We welcome strong remote candidates, with occasional travel to Las Vegas and customer sites as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for partners integrating with Libra to submit claims for processing, underwriting, and funding
  • Lead technical discovery with each partner: understand their systems, workflows, data, and constraints, and define integration scope, approach, risks, and sequencing
  • Translate between audiences, explain integration requirements, timelines, and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders in plain language, and work through API design, payloads, data mapping, authentication, and error handling with technical counterparts
  • Design practical integration solutions, evaluating trade-offs and recommending the right pattern for each partner's technical maturity
  • Investigate system behavior directly through API calls, database queries, logs, and code review to troubleshoot integration issues and establish accurate baselines
  • Turn customer needs into precise, engineering-ready requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, data flows, and integration specifications, that both engineering teams and AI agents can consume
  • Direct AI-assisted tools to produce specifications, integration guides, diagrams, and customer-facing documentation; validate the output for accuracy, completeness, and edge-case coverage
  • Own the integration plan and keep every party aligned on status, next steps, and blockers through concise written and verbal updates
  • Drive work across Libra's product, engineering, underwriting, and operations teams through influence rather than authority, escalating early and clearly when something is at risk
  • Validate integrations before go-live through testing, data verification, and acceptance against agreed criteria; support customers through launch and stabilization
  • Contribute to Libra's integration knowledge base, patterns, business rules, common issues, and customer-specific context, structured so it is usable by AI agents and engineering teams
  • Identify recurring integration friction and recommend improvements to Libra's APIs, documentation, and onboarding process
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on software development experience
  • 5+ years in solutions engineering, integration engineering, technical implementation, solutions architecture, or technical product ownership, including direct work with external customers or partners
  • Demonstrated track record of leading third-party integrations from discovery through production
  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, authentication methods, data formats (JSON, XML, flat files), and integration patterns
  • SQL proficiency for data investigation, integration validation, and troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of software development sufficient to read and reason about application code and assess technical feasibility independently
  • Exceptional communication skills: concise, structured, and able to adjust depth for executives, operations staff, and engineers
  • Demonstrated experience writing clear technical requirements, specifications, and customer-facing documentation
  • Proficiency using AI-assisted tools, such as Claude or equivalent agentic platforms, to produce specifications, documentation, and diagrams
  • Highly self-organized; able to manage multiple concurrent partner integrations without close direction
  • Proven ability to drive outcomes through influence across teams and organizations where you hold no formal authority
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity; creative problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Technical Familiarity:

  • Experience with claims, lending, underwriting, healthcare billing, or legal-tech data flows
  • Healthcare or claims data standards such as X12 837/835, HL7, or FHIR
  • API testing and interaction using Postman or Swagger/OpenAPI
  • Microsoft SQL Server for data analysis and query execution
  • Application development experience with C#, .NET, Entity Framework, and React or Angular
  • Experience with the Anthropic API and Claude model family, MCP (Model Context Protocol), or Claude Code or equivalent agentic tools
  • Source control workflows using Git and Bitbucket
  • Proficiency in Jira and Confluence; experience with Draw.io, Lucidchart, or similar diagramming tools
