Commerce is seeking a strategic, business-minded Senior Analyst to serve as the lead for Legal team operations. This role will partner closely with in-house attorneys and Legal leadership to define and drive team goals, lead legal operations projects, improve intake and workflow management, and scale Legal support through systems, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled processes. This role will provide day-to-day direction on legal analyst workflow, priorities, and execution and will play a central leadership role in improving how legal work is requested, routed, tracked, and delivered across the business.
What You'll Do
Serve as the day-to-day lead for Legal team operations, helping coordinate workflow, prioritize requests, and drive timely, high-quality execution across the Legal team.
Partner with attorneys and Legal leadership to define, operationalize, and drive Legal team goals, strategic priorities, and project portfolios.
Oversee the workflow of other Legal Analysts, including defining priorities, process preferences, and ensuring consistent application of legal operations standards.
Own legal operations initiatives across intake, triage, contracting workflow, knowledge management, and service delivery to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
Lead the development and implementation of legal processes, playbooks, standard operating procedures, templates, and best practices across the Legal team.
Act as the primary point of coordination for analyst escalations, workflow bottlenecks, and operational issues, presenting research, risk analysis, and practical recommendations to attorneys and stakeholders.
Develop and maintain dashboards, metrics, and reporting to track Legal team workload, turnaround times, project progress, and operational performance.
Identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities to streamline Legal operations through legal technology, automation, and AI tools, including platforms such as OpenAI, Gemini, and Claude.
Design and improve legal intake, routing, and self-service workflows so business stakeholders can access the right legal support more efficiently.
Monitor and improve data quality, process integrity, and reporting within Commerce's contract management and related legal systems.
Develop, maintain, and organize repositories of legal guidance, standard responses, training materials, and reference resources for use by Legal and cross-functional teams.
Conduct initial review of contracts against internal legal thresholds, standards, and playbooks, and review, negotiate, and revise nondisclosure agreements and procurement contracts with attorney support as appropriate.
Assist attorneys with preparation, review, negotiation, and redlining of other legal documents, routine correspondence, and ad hoc legal projects.
Partner cross-functionally with teams such as Sales, Procurement, GRC, Security, Finance, HR, and Product & Engineering to improve legal request management and support business priorities.
Maintain a strong understanding of the company's operations, products, market, customers, and risk profile to support practical, commercially aligned legal operations.
Coach and mentor Legal Analysts and interns on work quality, legal operations processes, systems, and best practices.
Who You Are
Bachelor's degree required.
5+ years of relevant experience in legal operations, contract management, paralegal operations, corporate legal support, or a similar in-house legal environment.
Demonstrated experience leading projects, coordinating workflows, or serving as a functional lead in a fast-paced environment.
Strong operational mindset with experience improving processes, building playbooks, and driving execution across multiple stakeholders.
Experience using or evaluating legal technology, workflow tools, automation solutions, and generative AI tools and platforms to improve efficiency and scale.
Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, Conga, DocuSign, contract lifecycle management systems, ticketing/workflow tools is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and sound judgment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate legal and operational issues into clear, practical guidance.
Ability to think ahead, anticipate issues, and balance competing priorities in a dynamic business environment.
Takes ownership of work and drives projects through to completion with limited oversight.
Ability to work in a confidential manner due to access to information of a sensitive nature.
Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills; able to shift quickly for urgent matters and escalations.
SaaS or technology company experience preferred.
Positive, collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
(Pay Transparency Range - $90,813.00 - $136,219.00)
