Lead semiconductor product engineering from silicon bring-up through characterization, yield learning, qualification support, and production ramp. Own product health across wafer sort, package test, and manufacturing correlation; analyze ATE and silicon data; improve screening, quality, manufacturability, automation, and analytics. Partner with design, DFT, test, reliability, quality, manufacturing, OSAT, and foundry teams. The role also validates high-speed interfaces and Functional Safety mechanisms.

Mythic is building next-generation AI silicon, and we're looking for a hands-on Product Engineer to help bring it to life. Early on, you'll help build out our bring-up and validation plan for a chip that blends analog/mixed-signal circuitry and embedded flash memory with Functional Safety requirements, then carry it through wafer sort, package test, characterization, and yield learning as we work with OSAT and foundry partners toward production ramp. This is a hands-on, physical-silicon role — centered on ATE data and bench characterization rather than software or firmware — and it's a great fit for someone who enjoys turning ambiguity into scalable product engineering practices while working closely with design, DFT, test, reliability, quality, and manufacturing.

What you'll do

  • Drive product engineering strategy and action across silicon bring-up, characterization, yield learning, screening, qualification support, and production ramp

  • Own product health across wafer sort, final package test, characterization, and manufacturing correlation

  • Partner closely with design, DFT, test engineering, reliability, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure product readiness

  • Analyze silicon and test data to identify yield issues, systematic failures, performance limiters, and opportunities to improve quality and manufacturability

  • Work directly with OSATs and foundries to deploy and sustain robust product flows in manufacturing

  • Make smart tradeoffs across yield, quality, screening effectiveness, performance, cost, and ramp velocity

  • Improve infrastructure, automation, and analytics for product monitoring, failure analysis, and yield learning

  • Operate as an individual contributor who is comfortable getting deep into silicon, data, debug, and cross-functional execution

What you'll bring

  • +5 years of experience in semiconductor product engineering, test engineering, yield engineering, or a related silicon production role

  • Hands-on experience with physical silicon: wafer sort and final package test in real production environments

  • Strong ownership of silicon bring-up, characterization, yield analysis, and production ramp

  • Deep understanding of manufacturing flows, device screening, correlation, guard banding, binning, and outgoing quality

  • Strong debug instincts and data fluency — you know how to find signal in noisy silicon and manufacturing data

  • Experience working cross-functionally with design, DFT, test, reliability, quality, and operations teams

  • Comfortable operating with urgency, ambiguity, and a high bar for execution

  • Builder mindset: you do not wait for perfect structure — you create it

  • Experience validating or characterizing high-speed IP interfaces such as LPDDR, PCIe, UCIe, MIPI, and Ethernet

  • Experience validating Functional Safety mechanisms

What you need to know about the Austin Tech Scene

Austin has a diverse and thriving tech ecosystem thanks to home-grown companies like Dell and major campuses for IBM, AMD and Apple. The state’s flagship university, the University of Texas at Austin, is known for its engineering school, and the city is known for its annual South by Southwest tech and media conference. Austin’s tech scene spans many verticals, but it’s particularly known for hardware, including semiconductors, as well as AI, biotechnology and cloud computing. And its food and music scene, low taxes and favorable climate has made the city a destination for tech workers from across the country.

Key Facts About Austin Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 180,500; 13.7% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Dell, IBM, AMD, Apple, Alphabet
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, hardware, cloud computing, software, healthtech
  • Funding Landscape: $4.5 billion in VC funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Live Oak Ventures, Austin Ventures, Hinge Capital, Gigafund, KdT Ventures, Next Coast Ventures, Silverton Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Texas, Southwestern University, Texas State University, Center for Complex Quantum Systems, Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences, Texas Advanced Computing Center
