About Base

Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.

About the Role

Our marketing team combines creative, customer-focused strategy with data-driven precision to reach the right customers at the right time. We’re hiring an Organic Social Content Manager to build Base into one of the most distinctive, entertaining, and trusted energy brands on social.

You’ll own the day-to-day operation of Base’s organic channels, from developing the content calendar and creating original content to publishing, engaging with our audience, and learning from performance. You’ll turn Base’s products, customers, employees, and mission into platform-native stories people want to watch, share, and join.

This is a hands-on creative role. You’ll develop recurring social series, respond quickly to relevant cultural moments, and personally bring ideas from concept through production. You should be as comfortable scripting and filming a video as you are writing a caption, organizing a calendar, or interpreting performance data.

What You’ll Do
  • Own Base’s organic social strategy, content calendar, and publishing cadence across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, and emerging platforms.

  • Develop original, recurring content series that make Base, energy, and the grid interesting, useful, and fun to follow.

  • Concept, script, capture, edit, write, and publish platform-native content, including short-form video, photos, graphics, carousels, and written posts.

  • Find compelling stories across Base’s customers, products, installations, employees, markets, and mission, then turn them into content people want to watch and share.

  • Balance planned programming with reactive content, moving quickly on trends, customer conversations, cultural moments, and company news when Base has something meaningful to add.

  • Maintain the content calendar and manage the workflows behind it, including briefs, assets, approvals, deadlines, and platform-specific adaptations.

  • Collaborate with design, marketing, product, operations, and other teams to support launches, events, market expansions, and major company moments.

  • Build relationships with Base’s audience by responding to comments and messages, amplifying customer stories and user-generated content, and identifying advocates who can help grow the community.

  • Track organic reach, shares, saves, watch time, engagement, audience growth, and the performance of recurring series. Turn those insights into better ideas and stronger future content.

  • Stay close to platform changes, emerging formats, internet culture, and the brands and creators setting the standard for social content.

What You’ll Bring
  • Experience creating and managing organic social content for a consumer brand, product-led company, creative agency, media company, or similarly fast-moving organization.

  • A portfolio of original social work that demonstrates strong ideas, platform-native execution, and measurable audience or engagement growth.

  • Hands-on content creation skills. You can take an idea from concept to published post, including scripting, filming, editing, copywriting, and packaging it for the platform.

  • Strong short-form video instincts, including hooks, pacing, framing, captions, sound, and storytelling. You are comfortable using mobile-first editing tools such as CapCut, Premiere, or similar software.

  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to make a technical or unfamiliar subject feel clear, human, and interesting.

  • Deep familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and X, including an understanding of what audiences expect from each platform.

  • Strong creative judgment and a high bar for what is worth publishing. You know how to participate in culture without forcing the brand into conversations where it does not belong.

  • Comfort working both behind and in front of the camera when the idea calls for it. You can also help coworkers, customers, and partners feel natural on camera.

  • A data-informed mindset. You can interpret content performance, explain what worked, and apply those lessons to the next creative cycle.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage a high-output calendar, multiple collaborators, and fast-moving deadlines.

  • A proactive, resourceful attitude and comfort creating structure in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.

Portfolio

Please include a portfolio or links to three to five examples of social content you helped create. For each example, briefly explain the idea, your specific contribution, and what you learned from its performance.

About the Team

The Marketing team at Base is lean, high-ownership, and results-driven. We operate with clear accountability, tight feedback loops, and a strong bias toward action. Marketing works closely with design, sales, product, and operations to build scalable systems that support the rapid buildout of America’s next-generation power company.

Please note: Base is a startup, which means priorities shift and evolve quickly. Your role may expand or change based on the needs of the business at any given time, so the responsibilities listed may not be exhaustive.

Our Values
  • First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions. Principles > rules.

  • Operate at Base Pace: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.

  • Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble, and maintain a growth mindset.

  • Everyone’s an Owner: Follow through on commitments and own results.

  • Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: Drive clarity and make calls with imperfect information.

  • Committed to the Mission: Rebuilding the grid is a big challenge. We work hard because we care deeply about the impact we’re creating. We work in-person. It’s not a 9-to-5. We are all-in.

  • Fun & Optimism Coexist with Grit: Collaboration and celebration coincide with the intensity of building real things.

Do the best work of your life at Base.
