Pingboard, an Austin startup selling software to help small businesses stay organized, has raised $2.2 million in funding from 17 investors. This was announced as an update to Pingboard's January round in which it garnered $1.2 million from investors including Silverton Partners.

[ibimage==32498==Medium==none==self==ibimage_align-left]The company's co-founder Bill Boebel is highly active in the Austin startup world. He manages the co-space operator and incubator Capital Factory, and created Pingboard in part to manage its operations. After months of beta testing, it formally launched in June, intended for small businesses with 50-100 employees.

“We built Pingboard for ourselves upon noticing all the inefficiencies in our own office management at Capital Factory,” Boebel said in a statement. “We realized no software exists just for office management. While there is great software for enterprise IT and HR, there was no platform or API to automate people processes. Office managers are the life of their office. They ensure everyone can do their job well, connect entire teams, and keep the lights on. They need a software tool of their own, and that’s Pingboard. We’ve been piloting with some of the best companies in Austin and Silicon Valley, and we’re thrilled with the ways they are using the platform.”

Pingboard provides a single place where all of a company's valuable information can be stored and edited, with varying levels of security depending on a firm's needs. It currently sells to companies at a rate of $1 per month per employee. Its enthusiastic userbase helped Boebel and co-founder Rob Eanes fine-tune it during beta – 175 companies with more than 4,000 individual users make up its core community.
