While a dog-friendly office environment is certainly appealing, the work that OJO Labs is doing in St. Lucia is even more so. Alissa Vrabel, the real estate AI firm’s head of people, walked us through the major impact they’re making on the island through its customer service facility.

Coolest perks: Did someone say dogs? Not only does OJO offer a dog-friendly workplace, the company has its own Dogs of OJO program with a dedicated “Dog-Bassador” who helps register the pup-ployee and gets them setup with a goodie bag full of toys and treats. They also have in-office dog stations with comfy beds and water and a dedicated dog community Slack channel for sharing ideas and dog services recommendations. 

Our local community involvement program, OJO Cares, also extends to the St. Lucia location – where the team donates their time and/or resources to the local community.

 

What's one thing about your company that would surprise a lot of people?

We have an AI training and customer service facility on the beautiful island of St. Lucia where we employ 210 incredibly talented people in an under-developed area of the country. These are often young professionals who don’t have a lot of employment options coming out of college. Khoros is a new name but not a new company. Last fall, Lithium Technologies merged with Spredfast to create Khoros, the leader in digital customer engagement. We’re hiring like crazy and now have almost 1,000 employees across 10 global offices, with principal operations in Austin.

Coolest perks: New office, who dis? CCC is in the process of moving to a brand new, fully remodeled space within walking distance of The Domain to accommodate for its quickly growing local team. What's one thing about your company that would surprise a lot of people? 

Whether it’s courses through CCC’s Learning Academy, online or at a local college, CCC strides to better their employees by promoting the continuance of education. CCC has created Learning Academy, a resource for employees to improve their soft, hard and technical skills through courses and sessions that are regularly rolled out. We value all ideas and set time aside to discuss and work through them to ensure teammates are growing and developing within the organization. The members of our Austin office really reflect what Austin is all about — quirky and unique. We have team members who have some awesome hobbies such as creating EDM tracks and even regularly skydiving out of a plane!
