Facebook opened a new office in Austin with room for 1,550 employees. The new space takes up floors 14 through 24 of the Third + Shoal building downtown and features 10 outdoor decks, a jam room for musicians and a yoga space. Facebook currently has 1,200 employees in Austin, so the new space has room for more hires. [Built In Austin]

On-demand delivery service Favor appointed Fernando Trueba chief marketing officer. Trueba has a stacked resume that includes eBay, Microsoft, Johnson & Johnson and Red Bull. He also founded the fashion tech company Luv.it. Favor is currently hiring across divisions. [Press release]

University of Texas unveiled Frontera, the world’s fifth-fastest supercomputer. Researchers will use the machine to analyze particle collisions and model climate patterns, among other projects. Hero Digital named Razorfish veteran Patrick Frend as its first president. The San Francisco-based digital marketing company recently established an Austin presence and acquired Austin B2B marketing firm Bulldog Solutions. Frend has held leadership positions at digital agencies GALE Partners and Razorfish. [Press release]

E-commerce platform provider BigCommerce expanded its headquarters by more than 80 percent. This comes on the heels of a $64 million funding round led by Goldman Sachs last year. [Austin Business Journal]

Fashion tech heavyweight Stitch Fix has snapped up the IP and tech from a fashion startup with Austin roots. Finery, which was co-founded by Austin actor Brooklyn Decker, sold its intellectual property and tech for an undisclosed amount. The startup raised $5 million in venture capital funding in 2018, much of which came from Austin-based Next Coast Ventures. [Austin Business Journal]
