Marketing is no longer just about ad space. Sure, brands can still buy and place digital ads on a bevy of social platforms, but often those techniques don’t result in the outcome the brand is looking for. The need for better outcomes and more authentic connections with customers has led to the development of new marketing techniques, and the startups leading that charge have seen great success with their platforms and with investors. 

Recently LoudCrowd, a marketing analytics and influencer platform, announced that it raised a $5 million Series A round led by Mucker Capital. With the new capital, the Austin-based company will hire engineers to grow its platform. 

Modern marketing techniques aim to connect brands and customers in deeper and more meaningful ways in order to leave a lasting impression, and LoudCrowd is helping brands achieve just that but with automation. With its platform, companies and brands can measure user-generated content (UGC). UGC is any piece of content — a photo, video or review of a product — that is posted online by customers. The LoudCrowd platform can also help companies grow their UGC posts through social media contests and rewards programs. 

In addition, the platform helps brands establish micro-influencer programs. LoudCrowd does this by providing tools that can identify a brand’s top followers and also incentive them to create content for the brand and its products. 

“LoudCrowd has built a platform that helps brands get more social content and engagement from their customers via brand ambassador programs,” Omar Hamoui, a partner at Mucker Capital, said in a statement. “While there are several companies vying to build ambassador solutions, LoudCrowd’s focus on automation allows their programs to scale far beyond anything else we’ve seen in the market. Think tens of thousands of ambassadors for a mid-sized brand, all managed by a single person.”

LoudCrowd has helped brands acquire a greater return on marketing dollars and, as such, has become an increasingly popular product. According to the company, it has tripled its revenue year-to-date and recently doubled the size of its team. 

To stay atop the demand for the LoudCrowd platform, the company is currently hiring with plans to open more roles soon

Since launching in 2019, LoudCrowd has raised $9.2 million in venture funding, according to Crunchbase.
