Cloudflare is seeking a Systems Engineer with expertise in Linux systems and network programming to join their team. The engineer will work on building a globally distributed compute platform and will be responsible for tasks such as secure sandboxing of GPU and AI workloads, high throughput network data plane, and distributed routing control plane.

As a Distributed Systems Engineer at Cloudflare, you'll work on building robust, secure, and high-performance distributed systems that run close to the end user, at a massive scale, and deployed to cities around the world. Responsibilities include working on software systems such as TLS/HTTP proxy, malicious traffic filtering, content optimization, serverless platform, reverse-proxy system, and data pipelines. Desired skills include protocol-level understanding, proficiency in Go and Rust, experience in debugging, systems level programming skills, optimization, continuous integration workflow, and Unix knowledge.

The Systems Engineer will work with other System Engineers and support teams to maintain and enhance the z/TPF Operating System. Responsibilities include providing online support, developing systems software, and coordinating efforts across multiple teams. This is a hybrid position with the expectation of working from the office 2-3 set days a week.
