Design, build, and operate scalable infrastructure and CI/CD/IaC systems. Implement observability (monitoring, logging, alerting), automate reliability improvements, mentor engineers, collaborate on incident response, and participate in on-call rotations to maintain Akamai Cloud services.

Lead technical architecture and thought leadership for AI and enterprise workloads on Akamai’s cloud, edge, delivery, and security platforms. Advise customers and stakeholders, identify AI adoption opportunities, design scalable solutions, guide framework and technology selection, and collaborate with engineers, data scientists, Product Management, and R&D. Shape product roadmaps, provide technical guidance, analyze requirements and data, and develop strategic customer relationships.

Manage relationships and negotiations with internet service providers, fiber providers, carriers, vendors, and partners. Develop connectivity strategies, negotiate contracts and pricing, support data center fiber builds, identify cost savings, coordinate capacity upgrades, and collaborate with internal infrastructure and provisioning teams across global regions.

Lead the architecture and implementation of scalable cloud compute functionality across ARM64 and x86 platforms. Design hypervisor layers, cross-platform build pipelines, and performance optimization solutions while writing, reviewing, documenting, and testing production software. Coordinate globally to deliver compute features and resolve low-level software issues. Provide technical, organizational, and functional leadership to engineers.

Design and scale ARM64 compute platform infrastructure, hypervisor integrations, instance management, resource orchestration tools, and compute APIs. Develop and maintain low-level services using Python, Go, or compiled systems languages. Collaborate with hardware and global engineering teams, participate in design reviews, debug distributed Linux systems, and mentor junior engineers.

Design and develop backend compute services, APIs, orchestration tools, and virtualization infrastructure for ARM64 and x86_64 cloud instances. Improve platform performance, scalability, reliability, and feature sets while integrating ARM server hardware. Troubleshoot complex low-level distributed Linux systems, collaborate across teams, and support the full software development lifecycle.

Develop and own compute and GPU server platforms from architecture through global deployment. Responsibilities include schematic and layout reviews, design for manufacturability, new product introduction, board and system bring-up, validation, debugging, firmware and BIOS feature management, technology qualification, and vendor coordination. The role requires hands-on server architecture, board-level design, Linux and scripting expertise, platform validation, and five-day-per-week presence in the Cambridge office.
