Owns the operational success, reliability, adoption, and user experience of an enterprise Data Lake Studio platform. Responsibilities include managing cross-storage data transfers, connectors, ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestration, monitoring, alerting, cost optimization, self-service workflows, customer enablement, troubleshooting, governance, encryption, identity management, and RBAC. The role requires strong data engineering and cloud operations expertise, leadership experience, and proficiency with orchestration, distributed processing, SQL, and Python.

Build scalable backend services and responsive front-end applications for eBay’s global traffic systems. Design RESTful APIs, microservices, databases, and user interfaces; influence architecture for scalability, resilience, security, and maintainability; collaborate with product managers and engineering teams; and improve coding standards, secure development, automation, and CI/CD practices.

Architect integrations with enterprise knowledge, APIs, transactional systems, and case management while optimizing reliability, security, scalability, latency, observability, and cost. Evaluate emerging AI technologies, validate decisions through prototypes and technical reviews, and influence architecture across multiple engineering teams.

Maintains the Global Communications team’s Airtable environment, workflows, automations, reports, dashboards, and operational data. Coordinates vendor, purchasing, contract, subscription, and budget-related processes with Finance, Procurement, Legal, PMO, and Communications teams. The role improves processes, validates data, documents workflows, supports tool adoption, troubleshoots system issues, and helps streamline recurring operational activities.

Build and operate large-scale search index distribution infrastructure, including real-time and batch streaming pipelines across thousands of nodes. Design fault-tolerant distributed systems, automate cluster management, monitor system health, troubleshoot delivery and performance issues, and ensure search indexes remain fresh, consistent, and reliable. Collaborate with backend, infrastructure, and partner teams while owning components from design through production.

Performs IT audits, tests controls, identifies risks and control gaps, documents findings, and recommends remediation. Lead platform engineering for eBay’s internal developer ecosystem. Design and ship Java or Kotlin microservices, platform APIs, Kubernetes architecture, React interfaces, and automation supporting thousands of engineers. Guide technical decisions, improve reliability and observability, mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and partner with global teams to integrate AI into developer workflows.
