As a Staff Backend Engineer for Tempo, you'll lead technical initiatives, own core component architecture, drive operational excellence, mentor engineers, and contribute to open-source projects, focusing on enhancing Grafana's tracing capabilities and API development.

Sell and expand Grafana Cloud and Grafana Enterprise within existing accounts across the Central region. Prospect, manage full sales cycles, meet quarterly and annual quotas, run demos and proofs of concept, manage pipeline and forecasts in Salesforce, handle quotes and order processing, and build strong customer relationships using a consultative approach.

Lead and run multi-channel demand generation programs focused on existing customers to drive expansion and cross-sell. Design AI-driven, agentic workflows to automate campaign execution, align marketing signals with sales actions, measure pipeline impact, and optimize programs across email, paid, events, web, in-app, and field channels.

Customer-facing senior solutions engineer who partners with Sales to demo and evaluate Grafana Cloud, drive technical engagements to qualify and close opportunities, gather product feedback, and produce enablement content (docs, blogs, videos). Acts as product expert for customers, presents technical solutions, and supports cross-functional collaboration with Product and Engineering.

Design, implement, test, and operate core backend services for an AI-native context layer: ingestion, indexing, retrieval APIs, multi-tenant SaaS features, tenant isolation, quotas, and observability. Partner across product and infra, iterate quickly from prototype to production, and own system reliability and architecture.

The Enterprise Account Executive will prospect and grow business, manage forecasts, and track customer data to achieve sales goals. A consultative sales approach is essential, along with strong relationship-building skills during the trial phase and handoff to Customer Success.

Lead strategy, negotiation and execution of high-value enterprise commercial transactions (SaaS, self-managed, channel, AI-related).
